VOTE YES ON MEASURE B
Protect Santa Barbara's unique small town charm:

  • WHAT IS MEASURE B? It's a straight-forward citizens' initiative on the November 3 ballot.

  • WHAT WILL IT DO? It will lower new building heights in the historic section of town, the El Pueblo Viejo section, to 40' and along the Milpas corridor and other commercial zones to 45' (Upper State Street already has a 45' limit.)

  • WHY VOTE YES? Lowering new building heights will prevent more and more tall buildings such as Chapala One.

  • AGAIN, WHY VOTE YES? Lowering new building heights will help preserve the small town ambiance of Santa Barbara, will help protect the livability of our home city.

Santa Barbara's “small-town feel,” its quality of life, and its respect for history are why we live here. The city's appearance is a primary reason why visitors visit. Why come to Santa Barbara if it's high-rise, just like everyplace else?

The election will be on November 3 — we urge a strong Santa Barbara City voter turnout. PLEASE JOIN us and vote YES on Measure B.

Mayor Blum and her three most recent predecessors, former mayor Harriet Miller, former Mayor Hal Conklin and former Mayor Sheila Lodge speak about why they support Measure B: YouTube link.
